Coverage in Writing

Warranty

Every installation we complete carries two layers of coverage: the manufacturer's warranty on the window or door itself, and our own written workmanship warranty on the installation. Both are documented, both are honored by our own office, and both are explained to you before you sign.

Two Layers of Coverage

A window or door problem is not always a product problem — sometimes it is an installation problem. Knowing which warranty applies is what gets the issue resolved quickly and at no cost to you.

One call is all it takes. If you are not sure whether your issue is a product defect or a workmanship issue, call our office and describe it. We inspect, we determine which warranty applies, and we handle it from there — you do not have to chase the manufacturer yourself.

Keeping Your Warranty in Good Standing

Warranties on windows and doors are easy to maintain. A few minutes twice a year protects both the product and your coverage.

Keep weep holes clear

Every window and door frame has small drainage openings at the bottom. Leaves, dirt, and paint block them and trap water. Check them every spring and fall and clear them with a soft brush or a piece of wire.

Keep the documentation

Store the manufacturer's printed warranty and your contract in your home records. If you sell the property, pass them along. If you lose them, call us — we keep records tied to your installation address and can help you recover them.

Warranty FAQ

Does my new window or door come with a warranty?

Yes, and there are two separate layers. The manufacturer warrants the window or door product itself, covering defects in materials and workmanship in the unit. Separately, Mid-Florida Windows and Doors provides a written workmanship warranty covering the installation itself: flashing, sealing, fastening, insulation, and finish work. You receive the manufacturer's printed warranty documents along with our written workmanship terms at the time of installation.

Does a broken window or a leaking door void the warranty?

Accidental breakage such as a cracked pane from an impact is not a defect and is generally not covered. Likewise, warranty coverage can be affected by unauthorized modifications, by work performed by a third party on the unit, or by failure to perform reasonable maintenance such as keeping weep holes clear and re-caulking as sealant ages. Ordinary wear items, glass breakage from storms or projectiles, and damage from neglect are typically excluded.

How do I file a warranty claim?

Call our office at (888) 230-0243 or (407) 607-6528 and describe the problem. Have your installation date and, if you have it, your contract or invoice number available. We will schedule an inspection. If the issue is a workmanship matter we correct it as a warranty service call. If it is a product defect we handle the manufacturer claim process on your behalf, including ordering replacement parts or units and performing the labor.

Is my warranty still valid if I sell the house?

Most of the manufacturer warranties on the product lines we install are transferable to a subsequent homeowner, and transfer terms are set out in the manufacturer's printed warranty for your product. Workmanship coverage terms are stated in your contract. When you sell, pass along the warranty documentation we provided at installation. If you have misplaced it, contact us and we will help you recover the record for your address.
